Data Backup

Don’t leave it until it’s too late to make sure your data is safe with a Data Backup

At Exlen we have seen firsthand the devastation, disruption to business, and overall inconvenience caused by losing your important data. But, it doesn’t have to be this way. Exlen offers a wide range of Data Backup solutions to suit any budget, type, or amount of data.

Cloud Data Backup

Cloud backups are a great option for someone looking to keep their data safe and completely separate from their computer. With cloud backups even if the whole computer goes up in smoke your data will be safe in the cloud. Another benefit is your data can be accessed on pretty much any internet-connected device (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) at any time.

Popular cloud storage services include: iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, BackBlaze, and more. Cloud backups can easily be configured to complete on a schedule down to every 5 mins so your backup is always up-to-date.

With all the benefits of cloud backups of course, there are some cons. Cloud backups require you to pay on a subscription basis (usually monthly) which will recur the whole time you use the service. The next con is the element of insecurity of the cloud, backups stored on the internet incur an inherent risk of your data being compromised versus a local backup in your physical possession. Also if you chose the wrong Cloud service you never know when the company you have chosen may close business which could lead to your data being lost.

One of the benefits of the cloud is also one of its biggest cons, you have to have an internet connection to access your data. So if your internet is down (or worse yet the Cloud provider’s internet is down) your data will be inaccessible. Lastly, a lot of Cloud storage providers only allow a finite amount of storage space which if your go beyond, you will have to pay more on your susbcription.

External Storage Backup

External Storage backups are a great option for someone who wants to keep a backup of their important data separate from your computer but still in your physical possession.
