Laptop repair questions

Do you repair all makes of laptop?

Yes. We repair virtually every make and model, including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Asus, Apple, Microsoft Surface, Samsung, MSI and Toshiba. If your model isn’t listed on our brand pages, call us on 01246 236363 and we’ll let you know.

How much does a laptop repair cost?

Laptop repairs start from £50. The final price depends on the fault and the parts needed, and we always give you a quote before doing any work. A typical laptop screen replacement costs £100–£150.

How long does a laptop repair take?

Most repairs are completed within 2 working days. If a part needs ordering for a less common model it can take a little longer, and we’ll tell you when we quote.

Do you charge to look at my laptop?

Our diagnosis fee starts from £40. We find out exactly what’s wrong and give you a clear quote, and nothing else is done without your go-ahead.

Will I lose my files and photos?

Most repairs, such as screens, batteries and keyboards, don’t affect your files at all. If a repair does involve your hard drive or reinstalling Windows, we’ll talk to you first and can back up your files.

Is my old laptop worth repairing?

Often, yes. An SSD upgrade or new battery can give an older laptop years more use for much less than a new one. If a repair isn’t worth the money, we’ll say so honestly, and we sell new and refurbished laptops if you need a replacement.

Where do I find my laptop’s model number?

Look for a sticker on the underside of the laptop, or inside the battery compartment on older models. It usually shows the brand, series and a model code. If you can’t find it, bring the laptop in and we’ll identify it for you.

Do you repair laptops for businesses?

Yes. We look after business laptops including Dell Latitude, HP EliteBook and ProBook and Lenovo ThinkPad, and can support whole offices. Call 01246 236363 to discuss what you need.
